SIP for Telecoms Applications 2-day training course is designed to provide a clear understanding of the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and associated protocols - and how these are used to provide session control within an IP network environment. SIP deployment, operation and procedures are explained in detail.

The course examines the application of SIP in modern telecoms networks. The deployment of SIP within the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) in both mobile and fixed network architectures is looked at, including how IMS is used to provide and control services within these networks. Other applications of SIP within a telecoms environment are also considered; such as the support of basic Voice over IP (VoIP) services and the interworking of SIP with existing telecoms protocols.

Why you chould attend this course?

  • Describe the operation of SIP-enabled telecoms applications
  • Identify how SIP can interwork with telecoms protocols
  • Understand the need for SIP in service control applications including the IMS and VoIP systems
  • Explain the role SIP plays (including its place in the overall operation) in different IP Session Based applications
  • Sketch the main components of the IMS and describe their function
  • Show how IMS relates to both mobile and fixed architectures
  • Describe possible IMS services
