Day 1: Strategic Thinking - Day 2: The Market Reality - Day 3: Evolving the Business Day 4: From Business Concept to Profit - Day 5: Bringing it all Together
This initial session sets out the goals of the programme, including expectations and participant requirements. It provides an opportunity for participants to meet each other and the staff, and to identify their development objectives. The Business Simulation Case Study is introduced at this stage.
Setting strategy and following it through is rarely accomplished flawlessly. Here, we assess how the chances of success can be maximised through effective analysis and a well-structured thought process.
With so many external factors affecting the business environment, (including economic downturn, regulatory change, or even natural events), it is impossible to predict the outcome of our business decisions. In addition, technologies, markets and competitors are developing and changing position at a rapid rate – making effective analysis very difficult.
Despite all this, decisions need to be made that are designed to maximise ROI, whilst carrying an acceptable level of risk, and that address events and outcomes that are considered possible or likely in the short-, medium- and long term (and doing nothing is not an option)
This session looks at the merits of scenario planning in dealing with the uncertainties inherent in the Telecommunications Industry, including how it can help minimise risk whilst maximising the effectiveness of our decision making.
A comprehensive look at how effective leaders communicate strategy and vision in order to ensure effective follow-through and implementation of their strategic decisions. This session is about how successful business leaders achieve their long-term objectives.
This session provides an opportunity to test initial strategic thinking concepts against the simulated business case. The participants work in groups to initially assess their current situation, and thendevelop effective strategy. This module provides the foundation for the week-long business simulation.
