W-CDMA AIr Interface (with HSPA) examines the concepts of W-CDMA (including HSPA), together with the protocol architecture, techniques and physical implementation of the UMTS Air Interface. The functionality and operation of each protocol layer is explained with reference to its implementation in the relevant network elements. Descriptions of the overall system operation illustrate how the protocols interact in order to provide channels and services to the end user – including HSPA techniques.
Topics, which include spectrum allocation and use, modes of operation, services, full protocol descriptions, procedures and techniques are all described in a clear, concise format to ensure the delegate acquires a good overall understanding of the UMTS Air Interface.
The course is intended for engineers and managers working with the UMTS Air Interface.
Delegates who attend this 3-day technical programme will be able to:
This course will provide you with a detailed understanding of the infrastructure required in UMTS network and its operation. A basic understanding of GSM/GPRS architecture and procedures would be an advantage.
